This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which our Corlenz: Document Scanner App collects, uses, discloses, and manages information from users (“User” or “you”). We built Corlenz to work with as little data collection as possible, and this policy reflects that. By downloading, accessing, or using our app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by its terms. If you do not agree with the practices described in this Privacy Policy, please do not use our app.
No Account Required:
Corlenz does not require account registration, login, or any personal information (name, email address, phone number) to use the app. All features are accessible immediately after installation.
Information We Collect:
1.1 Camera & Photo Library Access:
Corlenz requests access to your device’s camera and photo library solely to let you scan documents and receipts, or import existing images for editing, conversion, or enhancement. This access is used only for the images you actively choose to scan or select — we do not access your camera or photo library in the background, and we do not upload or transmit your photos to any server.
1.2 On-Device Processing:
The core features of Corlenz run entirely on your device:
a) Text recognition (OCR) is powered by Google ML Kit’s on-device text recognition model. Scanned images are processed locally in your device’s memory, and no image or extracted text is sent to any server during this process.
b) Background removal is powered by an on-device AI model (ONNX Runtime) bundled directly within the app. Images are processed locally, and no image data is uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
1.3 Translation Feature (the only feature that sends data externally):
If you choose to tap “Translate” on text that Corlenz has already extracted from a scan, the app sends that specific text (not the image) to Google’s translation service (translate.googleapis.com) to retrieve a translated result. This happens only when you explicitly request a translation — it is never triggered automatically. No image data is included in this request, and we do not store or log the text sent.
What We Do Not Collect:
Corlenz does not collect, store, or share:
a) Your name, email, or contact information;
b) Your location;
c) Your contacts;
d) Analytics or advertising identifiers;
e) Any data for advertising or tracking purposes.
Third-Party Services:
Corlenz uses the following third-party technology solely to power on-device or user-initiated features:
a) Google ML Kit (on-device text recognition — no data transmitted);
b) ONNX Runtime (on-device background removal — no data transmitted);
c) Google Translate API (only when you tap “Translate” — sends extracted text only, not images).
We do not use third-party advertising networks or analytics SDKs in Corlenz.
Data Security:
Since Corlenz processes your documents and images on-device and does not upload them to our servers, your scanned content stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to export, share, or translate it. While we strive to protect your information, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Children’s Privacy:
Corlenz is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take prompt steps to delete it.
Legal Compliance:
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to: a) Comply with a legal obligation or respond to a valid legal request; b) Protect and defend our rights, property, or safety or that of our users or the public.
Changes to the Privacy Policy:
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of the app following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
